Joining up and extending the many existing fragments of cycle footway that have already been built as the River Sheaf Walk would form a high quality long distance route from the south-west suburbs into the Heart of the City

The biggest problems are the height difference at almost every road crossing of the Midland railway, and sections where both banks are tightly developed up to the river edge.
